A type GW27c box opened here in 1913. The adjacent box, Morlais Junction East, which controlled the double track junction to Morlais Junction South and Hendy Junction closed in 1938. This left the junction in the block section with the facing points nearly 500 yards beyond the starting signal bracket and the trailing points as spring points protected by a sand drag.
