In volume eight of John Swift’s layout plans of the 1950s we re-join the Midland Railway at Trent and head for Hasland Sidings via the Erewash Valley and also via Derby over the Peak Forest to Buxton and Withington. The branches to Wirksworth and Ripley and the link from Ambergate to Clay Cross are also included.
Two other lines included are the Hope Valley and the section from New Mills to Belle Vue, the latter being joint with the Great Central Railway.
If you are not sure whether the location that interests you is in this volume or a different one, a combined index of all the locations in the series can be downloaded from our main web site entirely free of charge.
This is an A4 card covered book with, generally, more than 1 diagram per page.
