The DMS Archive
DMS stands for Document Management System and that is what the new document archive is all about.
Launched at our 2026 AGM, DMS is a new way of making the contents of the Digital Archive available to our members. It will gradually replace the hotch-potch of download links previously scattered around the web site by gathering them together in a logical hierarchy by document type. At the same time, the DMS will be searchable so that it should be easier to locate the information you want regardless of where the document is placed in the structure.
Based on the seedDMS open source application, it is intended that the system will become the primary means of accessing our archive material. However, achieving that goal will take some considerable time and effort. In the meantime the various Digital Archive catalogue pages have been migrated to the new Members section of the web site.
Accessing the DMS
Members may request access by sending an email to the webmaster quoting their membership number and name. A check will be made from time to time to ensure that only current members can access the DMS.
Members who have been sent their sign-on information can then access the DMS by clicking this link and then logging in.
Access to the DMS is restricted to members of the Society. If you are not already a member click this link to start the process of becoming a member.
First Time Logging In?
When you log in for the first time, start with the READ ME FIRST section. This contains the guides to help you get the best out of the DMS.
What's in the DMS?
The image on this page gives an indication of the range of material the DMS will contain although it will be some while before the full range is present. Guides explaining how to navigate and use the DMS and how the various sections are organised will be found in the "Read me first" section and there are other notes and comments associated with many of the folders.
